The Story of Suffrage In Greenwich with Heather Lodge
The Story of Suffrage in Greenwich will be presented by Heather Lodge, Manager of Youth and Family Programs at the Greenwich Historical Society.
This lecture, based on the Greenwich Historical Society's 2019 exhibit, An Unfinished Revolution, will highlight some of the incredible local women who helped move the dial on women's rights. Among those highlighted will be Grace Gallatin Seton, mother of the famous writer Anya Seaton and wife of Earnest Thompson Seaton, co-founder of the Boy Scouts, Caroline Ruuzt-Ress, Headmistress of Rosemary Hall, philanthropist Louisine Havemyeer, Dr. Veleria Parker, and Bush-Holley House's own Emma Constant Holley-MacRae. Change takes many hands and many steps. Come learn what steps were taken here in Greenwich leading up to the passage of the 19th Amendment.
In association with the Greenwich Historical Society.
