Astronomical Society of Greenwich: Solar Eclipse 2024

Come join us at Cos Cob Library to hear special guest Rick Bria from the Astronomical Society of Greenwich. Rick Bria is an amateur astronomer/Astro photographer with ~50 years experience. He has seen three total Solar eclipses, many lunar eclipses and several partial solar eclipses. 

Rick Bria has operated the Bowman observatory as an ASG volunteer since 1985. He helped acquire, install and maintain the telescopes and equipment inside the Bowman observatory. He is a founding member of the Astronomical Society of Greenwich. 

Rick Bria has operated several observatories, including the Stamford observatory for several years until it was closed for construction of the new science center. 

He is the astronomy tech for the Aloysia Hardy Observatory at Sacred Heart Greenwich.

Rick Bria's talk will consist of explaining eclipses, and how to properly and safely observe them. He will show pictures of eclipses that he has observed, and also offer tips on where to best observe the upcoming April 8 eclipse.
