Overview of QuickBooks Online

Are you thinking about starting your own business, or are you a current business owner looking for financial management software? Join us via Zoom for a dynamic overview of Intuit’s latest version of QuickBooks Online, one of the more commonly used platforms.

During this class, we will cover:

  1. Overview of QuickBooks and its benefits for small businesses.
  2. Quick summary of available online plans and what types of businesses they suit.
  3. Initial Setup - Guide to setting up a QuickBooks account, company info, and chart of accounts.
  4. How to create customer profiles, send invoices, and record payments.
  5. Setting up vendor profiles, entering bills, and tracking payments.
  6. Connecting Bank Accounts for automatic updates.
  7. Importance of reconciling accounts and a quick walkthrough.
  8. Overview of key financial reports (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet) and how to use them.

With extensive experience in accounting, teaching, and consulting, Paula McLarren-Johnson serves as an Intuit Expert Live Bookkeeper, Adjunct Faculty at SUNY Westchester Community College, and President of McLarren Consulting Inc. Paula holds both an MBA and a BBA in Accounting.

Expertise & Skills:

Paula specializes in corporate and financial services, including credit card processing and banking. Her skills span corporate accounting, system implementations, and classroom instruction, where she teaches QuickBooks Online and accounting. She’s proficient in QuickBooks, Oracle, BlackLine, and Hyperion, holding certifications as a QuickBooks ProAdvisor Gold and Six Sigma Yellow Belt. Paula’s career has included roles as a manager at H&R Block, consultant at Resources Global, and program manager at MasterCard.
