Lynne and Richard Pasculano Signature Series: Wildlife Biologist and Filmmaker Ronan Donovan

The Lynne and Richard Pasculano Signature Series is pleased to present Wolf-Whisperer, Wildlife Biologist, and Natural History Filmmaker Ronan Donovan to the Berkley Theater. Donovan will discuss Exploring Our Wild Nature: Wolves, Chimps & Gorillas.

National Geographic Explorer Ronan Donovan’s love of the natural world was born, as he was, in rural Vermont. A field biologist turned wildlife photographer and filmmaker, Ronan has worked on all seven continents, with experiences ranging from documenting wild chimpanzees in Uganda to chronicling the life of one of Yellowstone’s iconic species, the grey wolf.

For the November 2017 issue of National Geographic Magazine, Ronan covered the current conservation status of mountain gorillas as a result of the legendary work of primatologist Dian Fossey in Volcanoes National Park, Rwanda. For the September 2019 issue of National Geographic Magazine, Ronan followed the wild lives of a family of arctic wolves in Canadian high arctic that was also made into a three-part special for National Geographic Channel. For eight years, Ronan worked on a project that was funded by both National Geographic Magazine and National Geographic Society that explores the complex relationship between farmers and wild chimpanzees across western Uganda that was published in the magazine in June 2020.

Lynne and Richard Pasculano Signature Series offers dynamic, exceptional public programming that engages the Greenwich community and region, featuring nationally recognized experts for timely analysis and conversations that promote an exchange of ideas.

Ronan is currently working on a long-term project that explores the relationship between humans and wolves around the world, with a focus on coexistence. Ronan has taught dozens of storytelling workshops around the world, with his favorites being those for the National Geographic Society’s PhotoCamps that put cameras in the hands of underserved youth so that they can tell their own story.
