Python Programming Basics Made Easy: Part 4 of 4*

*Please register to attend Part 1 of this series on Wednesday, October 8th. By registering for Part 1, you are signing up to attend all 4 classes in the series: Wednesdays, October 8, 15, 22, and 29 from 6-7:30 p.m.

Welcome to the age of information—where the most powerful tool you can learn is how to talk to a computer. In this hands-on, beginner-friendly course, you’ll learn to program using Python, a powerful, modern language used by companies like Google, Netflix, and NASA.

Think of programming as giving superpowers to your innate curiosity and intelligence. You’ll learn not only how to write code—but how to think in a precise, structured, and creative way. Whether you're interested in building games, exploring math puzzles, or automating tasks, this course will show you how to use code to make your ideas come alive.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Write and run your own Python programs from scratch
  • Solve problems using computational thinking
  • Use programming to explore fun and meaningful challenges
  • Understand what makes code clear, efficient, and effective
  • Build confidence as a logical thinker and creative problem-solver

No prior experience needed—just bring your curiosity.

Prerequisites:
A basic working knowledge of computers is required, but no programming experience is necessary. A limited number of library computers are available or you can bring your own, so you can participate in live, hands-on experiences during the course.

Led by physicist and technologist Dr. Varghese "VJ" John, this 4-session course focuses on practical, hands-on skills through guided coding exercises and creative projects. Whether you're a curious beginner exploring programming for the first time or someone looking to build a solid foundation in Python, you'll gain the confidence to start writing real code and create your own programs.
