Friends Friday Films: Belfast

Kenneth Branagh's semi-autobiographical chronicle of a young boy weathering the peaks and valleys of childhood during the tumultuous 1960s in Belfast, Ireland. Branagh's warm, Oscar-winning script balances a child's understanding of the Troubles as he simply tries to navigate school, friendship, and his first crush, as his loving parents and grandparents wrestle with the safest way to keep his youth as idyllic as possible. This film is rated PG-13.

A trailer for the film can be found here.
