Ashforth Children's Concert: Stories of Royalty

The Storytime Quartet programs blend children's fairy tales together with classical string quartet music. Three stories of royalty: Twelve Dancing Princess (music by Antonio Vivaldi), The Emperor's New Clothes (music by Ludwig van Beethoven) and The Princess and The Pea (music by Dmitri Shostakovich) are presented with the famous music of classical composers to create an exciting storytelling experience for kindergarten through 3rd grade.  This performance will be narrated by Miss Royer Bockus whose credits include Peter Pan, Oklahoma, Into The Woods, My Fair Lady and The Little Prince.

During each program, the performers engage with the audience, inviting them to ask questions and recognize thematic materials and story plots. The presentation includes colorful, large-screen illustrations for each story, and the string quartet's instruments are explored and discussed in a fun Q&A segment. The performance runs for 55 minutes and is free and open to the public.
