AuthorsLive: The Year Without a Summer by Arlene Mark

AuthorsLive presents local Greenwich author Arlene Mark in conversation with Leigh Grant, president of the Greenwich Branch of the National League of American Pen Women, to discuss Mark's new teen novel, The Year Without a Summer, the story of two eighth-grade teens from different cultures who meet in Albany, New York: Jamie, a snowboard enthusiast but unmotivated student and Clara, hurricane survivor and high achiever from Puerto Rico. Culture isn’t their only difference. Opposite opinions about a natural disaster, escalating family disasters, and rocky peer relationships show Jamie and Clara the power of empathy to help each other and their families. They then empower themselves and classmates to work on the biggest issue, today, climate change.
